Rebuilding · part of The Reinvention Toolkit

Rebuilding from disruption. On your terms.

Something interrupted you. Illness, burnout, a step away, a role that stopped fitting the person you became. Coming back is daily work: energy, focus, the things you are managing quietly, and the return-to-work conversations that decide your terms. Capacity is leadership information here: evidence for a return that holds, never a score to apologise for. Rebuilding keeps all of it in one place and treats you as a professional first, never reducing you to a patient.

I’m Carla Taylor. I came back after Stage IV cancer to find myself at the top of the organisation’s risk register. I built this so your return is on your terms, not somebody else’s.

Why this exists

I built this because I needed it. It did not exist.

In the early years I was tracking everything across scraps of paper, a notes app, and a memory that treatment was slowly dismantling. I would sit down with my oncologist and forget half of what I wanted to ask. I would schedule a board meeting on a day I would later realise was always my worst, because I had no data, only hope.

What I needed was a single secure place that kept all of it in one place, and that helped me answer the question every returning executive dreads, honestly and with evidence rather than optimism: am I actually ready?

“This is what I use myself, right now, today.”

Who this is for

If you recognise any of this,
you are in the right place.

The Returning Executive

You are a C-suite leader, senior director, partner, or board member. Something interrupted you: illness, burnout, a step away, a role that stopped fitting the person you became. You do not want sympathy. You want your edge back, and a tool that treats you as a professional first.

The Supporter

You are the EA, the chief of staff, the partner. You are watching someone you respect hold too many moving parts at once while they find their way back. You want to help. This helps.

The HR or People Leader

You need a structured return-to-work conversation with an executive coming back from extended leave. The readiness report gives you that framework, generated by them, shared on their terms.

The Coach or HR Partner

You work with leaders coming back after a significant disruption. You need something evidence-based and privacy-first to recommend: a tool that keeps no medical record and puts the person in charge of what they share. Not a generic wellness app.

What is inside

Everything you need.
Nothing you do not.

This replaces the patchwork of spreadsheets, notes apps, and questions scribbled on receipts. Here is what it actually does.

01

CJ Does the Tracking

Rebuilding is demanding enough without the paperwork. Instead of forms and spreadsheets, CJ checks in with a short message; you reply in a sentence, by typing or by voice. She turns it into your record, so the tracking happens without you ever stopping to do it.

02

Patterns You Cannot See

Energy, focus, sleep and capacity for work over time, with trend lines that reveal what you cannot notice while you are living in the middle of it. The way back is not a straight line. The data shows you the trajectory.

03

RTW Readiness

A guided self-assessment across cognitive clarity, stamina, stress tolerance, and decision confidence, with a work-pattern design you can share. From 'I think I am ready' to 'here is my evidence'.

04

Your Readiness Summary

Before the return-to-work conversation, generate a one-page summary of how your capacity has actually tracked, and what you want to agree: hours, pace, supports. Built only from what you recorded, so it cannot invent a number. Yours to keep, or to share with your manager or HR.

05

Your Record Stays Yours

Medications, appointments and notes for your doctor belong in your companion Notion template, included with Rebuilding. It lives in your own Notion, where MTMOT never sees it. Rebuilding keeps only how you are feeling and your capacity for work, and asks your consent first.

06

Reflection Packs

Every quarter a new set of guided reflective exercises opens up, drawn from the Cultural Rewire work: the RECLAIM Framework and the 7-Part Turning Point. Not handed to you all at once, because rebuilding does not happen all at once. Each pack meets you where you actually are.

07

How Far You Have Come

Your reflections are kept, not overwritten. Each time you revisit one, you see what you said last time alongside what you say now. Progress you cannot feel day to day becomes visible across a year.
